I had a very magical day going to a local swap meet. You know how sometimes you look at something and it sparks a memory?. I have a fond memory of my Grandmother Ramirez’s kitchen. I remember peeking under the kitchen towel to reveal neat little bundles of fresh tortilla dough rising. I would watch her in awe as she rolled out and spun those fresh tortillas in the air like a pizza man. All I needed was butter. YUM! I also recall a large grouping of trivets, many with some very funny sayings on them, hung on her kitchen wall. That’s what I bought today, trivets. My cousin Lori still has grandma’s trivets hanging on her kitchen wall and I have added to her collection when I have found them in the past. Today I decided to start my own collection. Here are a few I picked up…
I wonder what these symbols mean????
One thing about buying old stuff, is you wonder about it’s history. Where was it made? Who’s home did it hang in? How many people have owned it? I’d rather have an old, rare, treasure than something everyone else can buy plus I’m recycling! Oh and then there is the saving money factor.
Hum..I feel a scrapbook page coming on…

Wow. I just celebrated my good friend "Crash’s" Birthday in Ocean Beach at Gallagers-Where we enjoyed the fine faire of the Raggle Taggle Celtic Band. What a treat! We stayed until it was officially St. Patrick’s Day! So don’t forget to enjoy the day with some leprechan tricks! Green food coloring in milk, pasta, sauces, cookies and the likes! My kids used to love this foolery. You can create 4 leaf clovers using a heart stamped in green ink, repeat in a circle to make a 4 leaf clover! Oh! And you can color flowers with Green food coloring too! Just put some in the water and let white flowers suck up the color!
AND here is a link for a FREE St, Patrick’s Day font!
And some Irish Proverbs here!
Enjoy your Day!
This is SO cute and perfect for gift giving!
